Dr van Hoeck graduated from the University of Ghent, Belgium, in 1997. After working in the surgery department of the University of Ghent for a year, Dr van Hoeck worked with Dr Tom Marien for several years. In 2003, in collaboration with Dr Leo de Backer, Dr van Hoeck founded the Clinic at Tops stables in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands.

In  2008, Dr van Hoeck founded Equine Medical Consulting BVBA where he works fulltime with veterinary coaching of international equine athletes.

Dr van Hoeck has been the team veterinarian for various countries and individual participants at the Olympics, the World and European Championships since 2002 with many victories and impressive results.

Dr van Hoeck started the SMDC- Advanced Imaging BV in 2015, in cooperation with SMDC and Dr Verhaeghe

In 2020, together with Dr Verhaeghe, they created their own equine orthopedic examination and treatment centre, the Sport Horse Clinic in Lille, Belgium.

Dr Verhaeghe graduated from the University of Ghent, Belgium, in 2007. From 2007 till 2013, Dr Verhaeghe was working in close cooperation with Dr Leo de Backer at the Clinic at Tops stables in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands.

In 2013, Dr Verhaeghe started his own sport horse practice where he works fulltime in veterinary coaching of many international stables.

From 2009 on, Dr Verhaeghe has been the team veterinarian for various countries at the Olympics, the World and European Championships.

With a lifelong passion for horses and unwavering determination, Simon has grown into a dedicated and respected equine veterinarian. His journey began humbly in a small Belgian town, where he pursued his dream despite the challenges, eventually earning his master’s degree in equine medicine from Ghent University.

Simon brings over 25 years of experience in the equestrian world, combining his love for horses with deep expertise. Whether supporting elite competitors at international events or assisting recreational riders, he is committed to providing the best possible care for every horse.

As a partner at the Sport Horse Clinic, Simon focuses on delivering exceptional care and fostering sustainable growth within the practice. With a specialization in orthopedics and lameness diagnostics, his personal and thorough approach makes him a trusted partner for horses and their owners alike.

Dr Delheid graduated from the University of Liège, Belgium, in 2012. In 2012-2013, she completed a rotating internship at the Equine Clinique of the university of Liège to develop her practical skills in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine.

After her internship, passionate by equine locomotion and medical imaging, she realised a specialized assistantship at the equine orthopedic centre CIRALE-Enva in France.

Following this, in August 2014, she came back to Belgium to take care of the top level equine athletes of the Stephex Stables where she worked in a full-time collaboration for more than 5 years, before starting her own practice in 2020 together with a collaboration with the Sport Horse Clinic adventure.

Stien Halman’s journey into equine veterinary medicine began with a newfound love for horses introduced by her family. While veterinary care wasn’t a childhood dream, her passion for animals and medicine grew naturally after her family entered the equestrian world.

A graduate of Gent University, Stien built a strong foundation through an internship at an equine clinic, where she discovered her dedication to orthopedics and sport horse care. Now a valued member of her clinic’s team, Stien combines her personal connection to equestrian sports with her professional expertise, helping horses perform at their best and recover from injuries.

Stien is passionate about preventive care, emphasizing regular check-ups to ensure long-term equine wellbeing. With ambitions to contribute to elite competitions and a collaborative, team-centered approach to her work, Stien is committed to advancing the health and performance of sport horses while supporting their owners every step of the way.
